inspirational video

After watching this video, I have a better understanding of wood and how it can move. There are multiple parts of my sketch up model that were modeled with the inspiration of the wood carving/peeling.

Week 3 Updates

Here is an updated version of my sketch up. It is very challenging at times to get things exactly how you want it, but with practice I am getting better. I am far from finished, but here what I have so far:

36 unique textures

Hey All,

Below are the 36 textures that my group has come up with. I organized them in a table, clearly stating which section of the building they correspond with. Below the table are the 36 unique, hand drawn textures.

Week 2- The Stairs

The above 2 pictures is a staircase that is made out of wood for Antonio Stradivari. The far right and far left of the step curve up to resemble what the wood does when a violin is constructed.
The above pictures of the next set of stairs two stairs were made for Shinya Kimura. This steps were created to look airy and light. The poles holding the stairs up at connected to the ceiling giving this stairwell a sense of freedom.

The above 2 pictures is my improved Sketchup #1. The middle floor (showroom) has a huge glass room off the back with large boxes sticking into the wall. This creates a space to show off the artwork.
Stair #3: When I was creating this stairs, I was inspired by one of the stairs that we saw in our Lecture 2 presentation.
Stair #4: These stairs are my 4th and last stair creation. The steps are made out of stone, with a white spine. I think the contrast between the two textures really make the staircase unique.

First Post

This is a sketch of my Coach Wristlet that I drew one morning when I was at Starbucks. The flower ring that is on the loophole was my Grandma's.
I think this is a fabulous piece of architecture. I love how the building has so many windows and certain cutouts of balconies with trees. It's a very modern looking building which sets the building apart from the rest of the city.
I took this photograph last week while I'll walking to go play Lawn Bowl. It's a breathtaking scene that reminds me of paradise. I have never seen such a beautiful view.

Shinya Kimura: tire, roll, fast

Antonio Stradivari: trees, stroke, delicate

Jiro Ono: body, compile, firm
